Its been a long time since I updated my blog properly. So I shall try and cover as much as I can over what happened lately. I screwed up my hurdles final as I hit the 4th or the 5th hurdle which caused my speed to slow down a lot. As a result, I came in 8th overall and I have a nasty bruised ankle since then. Quite sad about it actually but oh well, at least there is still next year. As for high jump, I came in 4th which was a pleasent surprise to both the team and me as I seldom went for jumps training and the height I was clearing then was only 165cm. So you can imagine the adrenalin that was pumping through me when I cleared a personal best of 175cm on that day. Hopefully I would be able to go for jumps training more regularly for next year and I hope to do well for both my hurdles and high jump.
This year's Nationals final was the most intense one I had ever been to. Even though I was the reserve runner for the 4 by 100m relay, I still felt pumped up and excited as though I had ran the race. Although I did not run in the finals for the relay, I still felt damn happy for the guys when they came in 2nd-despite falling short of our aim to bring back the full 9 points. Overall the guys and girls team put up a credible performance despite being plagued with injuries prior to Nationals by both coming in 3rd.
After the final, the team went to Jumbo at Serangoon Garden Country Club for our track dinner. We had a lot of fun as we bade farewell to the J2s, gobbled up the food and sang songs. I thought the singing part was freaking funny and lame at the same time because we were singing to songs like Happy Birthday (even though it was none of our's birthday) and Old Macdonald had a Farm. I was even sabotaged by Rong Hua to sing a duet with my teammate-it was so awkward and embarrasing. To make matters worst, it was a chinese song and I dunno how to read the lyrics as it was another version of chinese characters and Rong Hua had to actually read the lyrics out to me and I had to repeat after him. I swear that my face blushed damn red. Thank goodness I'm quite tan, so it was not that obvious.
On a seperate note, I'm glad that I did not get SUSU for my mid-years and instead I fared rather decent by getting AABCDE (a royal flush) for my chinese, chemistry, economics,, maths, GP and geography respectively. Oh well, I gotta hit the books soon as promos would be earlier then I had anticipated and I think I would have to balance my time well as my Taiwanese buddy would be coming to stay over with me from the 28th july to the 8th august. I think I've typed enough for today, chiao.
